How a Yorkshire video production company has gone from filming organ pipes to a YouTube sensation: “All in a week’s work.”

Touring with Russell Crowe, filming on a plane with Peter Andre and now taking a trip to the ‘North Pole’ with Yorkshire’s very own Danny Malin of Rate My Takeaway YouTube fame, nothing is a typical day for a Leeds-based video production company.

The team at Motiv Productions, based at the ITV Emerdale Studios in Leeds is always up for a challenge which has seen them film everything from a Organ Pipes and beach hotels to the latest music video of what’s dubbed to be this year’s Christmas number one hit.

Danny Malin the face of Rate My Takeaway has recorded a charity Christmas single each year and this year it was in aid of Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Motiv Managing Director Paul Ellener said they decided to do something different this Christmas, and as they’re Rate My Takeaway fans the chance to team up for a charity collaboration was agreed.

He said: “We normally shoot commercials and digital films for clients such as Jet2holidays, Centre Parcs the NHS and local Government organisations. So this music video was a chance to do something outside of our comfort zone, and within a short turnaround.”

This year’s charity Christmas single is all about Santa being from up north and Yorkshire Puddings.

Danny’s Rate My Takeaway brand is fun, organic and honest, so the video had to reflect that.

“We travelled with Danny and his crew to the ‘North Pole,’ (at the White Rose Shopping Centre) and to the Emmerdale Village.

“It seems we’ve hit all the right notes and the response so far has been great.”

Lets hope the result raises lots of donations, smiles and the Christmas spirit to all who watch it.
